The Vakantiebeurs satisfied about a successful edition after two years of absence

The organisation of the 52nd edition of the Vakantiebeurs at Royal Jaarbeurs can look back on a successful event. The reactions of both visitors and exhibitors were positive. “This edition, we had the biggest stand ever at the Vakantiebeurs. The Corendon Club House received large numbers of enthusiastic potential customers every day and we also welcomed many of our partners and business contacts. We can look back on a successful trade show,” says Tessa Hoogduin-Meerman of Corendon. Amanda Krans-Schouten, Marketing Manager at Holland America Line, is also positive: “We had lots of high-quality visitors, who were a lot more specific about what they want in a holiday. What surprised us this year, was the huge interest in far-away destinations, such as Asia and the Caribbean, in contrast to previous years.”

Marleen Rompen: “The Vakantiebeurs spanned five exhibition halls this year. A great result, after a long period of uncertainty in the travel industry. We are also very satisfied about the visitor numbers: we welcomed more than 65,000 visitors! Despite the fact that we had one less exhibition hall than the previous edition, the number of visitors per square meter remained the same. We heard from many exhibitors that their stands were well attended and that they took a lot of bookings for trips and holidays. Visitors were interested and looking for very specific travel inspiration. Visitors also gave us positive feedback about the various activities, such as indoor surfing, the diving tank and the world cuisine tastings. I agree with what Yuri Baczkowski, event manager at TUI, said: ‘It was super nice to give visitors the opportunity again to dream about their next holiday.’”

On 11 January, Royal Jaarbeurs welcomed almost 8,000 travel professionals during the Vakantiebeurs Trade Day! As always, the Trade Day took place before the Vakantiebeurs opened for consumers. It is the networking event for the travel industry, with a focus on sharing knowledge, inspiration and meeting each other in person. There were interesting and qualitative sessions about, for instance, the latest travel trends in the various theatres on the trade show floor.

Vakantiebeurs 2024 will take place from Wednesday 10 January until Sunday 14 January 2024, at Royal Jaarbeurs, Utrecht.
